VEX Robotics Club at North Park is open to 4th-6th grade students.
There will be limited spots available.

These are a list of requirements for your child to participate or be selected for a team.

  1. Students must be in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade to join the VEX robotics club.
  2. The students are required to attend all practices after school. If three or more are missed they will be dropped from the team. 
  3. To avoid charging a Robotics Club fee. Students who are selected to be apart of our Robotics club are committed to get a local business to sponsor our Robotics Team or get a $50 donation (see attached flier for more details). 
  4. The student is committed to attend all Saturday (8-3pm) Robotic competitions. These start as early as October and end in February. No more than four competitions in a school year. Dates to come.  
  5. The student follows the school rules: respectful, responsible, safe, and kind.  Students are committed to follow the code of conduct.
  6. VEX IQ Robotics is a TEAM competition, which means that all members participate equally and understand all four components to the competition: STEM research project, designing and building, programming, and driving. Students need to be interested in, and help their team with, all four components.

  1. I will follow all of the North Park Elementary behavior rules (respectful, responsible, safe, and kind).
  2. I will make sure I am in control of my body at all times.
  3. I will listen to my coach and follow the rules he/she gives me, and I will stay with my coach and my team at all times unless given permission to leave.
  4. I will use my time wisely and not play on personal or school electronics during robotics time.
  5. I will respect all school property.  I will leave whiteboard markers, erasers, posters, books, papers, etc. alone.  I will not get into other students’ desks.
  6. I will take care of all of the VEX IQ Robotics Equipment - I understand that it is expensive (each kit is $649), and I will replace anything I break.  I will clean up all equipment at the end of each practice.
  7. I will attend every practice and competition and let a coach know if I have to miss.  I will not miss more than three practices.
  8. I will be present and attentive during the entire practice and competition time; I will not leave without permission from my coach.
  9. I will be respectful and listen to my coach and teammates; I will respect their decisions.
  10. I will contribute positively to my team.
  1. I will support my child in keeping the rules of the North Park VEX IQ Robotics Code of Conduct.  
  2. I will attend and be a spectator at competitions. 
  3. I will be respectful of the coaches and team members’ decisions.  
  4. I understand that if my child violates the Code of Conduct, I will be notified and my child will no longer be able to participate in North Park VEX IQ Robotics.
  5. I will communicate with coaches on my child’s transportation from practices (i.e. riding home with friends, walking home, being picked up)
  6. I will have my child dropped off and picked up on time to and from practices and competitions. 
  7. I will help my child with getting a donation or sponsorship.
