North Park Elementary PTA Committee Meeting Minutes

Monday March 9, 2020 @ 3:30pm
North Park Elementary Community Room

Members Present: Elizabeth Edmonds, Shawnie Colohan, Ericka Rodriguez, Patricia Fedderson, Brooke Favero, Trina Favero, Heidi James, Tracy Beck, Mrs. Okey, Tami Shreeve, Michelle Strate

Inspirational Thought: Shawnie Colohan - “Be brave enough to be bad at something new.”

The minutes of the February meeting were reviewed by Patricia Fedderson. Patricia Fedderson set a motion to approve the minutes, Elizabeth Edmunds and Tracy Beck seconded the approval.

Treasurer's Report: Given by Ericka Rodriguez
● $24,852.20 in the account. She is working on finalizing the budget for field trips for this year.

Calendar of Events:
● Book Fair: Will be the last week of March (23rd-27th), will set up on Friday the 20th @1:30pm. Teachers fill out a wishlist Friday afternoon before school is out. In need of volunteers everyday but especially the 23rd. Should have 2 cash registers, will need $100 cash box by the 20th. Advertise on the Marquee and on Facebook. Scholastic will not be picking up the books until after spring break.
● Field Day: Reserved two 18” slides as well as an obstacle course bounce house. Fire truck will be there as long as there is not a fire. Sign up sheet will be available for parent helpers at the next meeting. **If anyone is interested in heading Field Day in the future get in touch with Heidi James.**
● PTA Bylaws: Printed and in the office for any and all to read on March 11th. Elizabeth Edmunds voted to not change anything in the bylaws Tricia, Mrs. Okey, and Ericka seconded the vote.
● PTA Board Voting: For 2020-2021 PTA Board school year. Secretary still available. Contact Mrs. Okey if interested.
● Mrs. Okey: Math/Science Olympiad- practice will be after school on wednesdays thru April. The Olympiad will be on May 4th 11:45-2:00. Would appreciate as many parent helpers as can come. Leader In Me- Looking into a parent component for next year, and all that it entails. Will give more information as it becomes available. Coronavirus- A video was made, it is on the school’s web page and on the myweber portal. Please let the school know if you have any questions.
