North Park Elementary PTA Committee Meeting Minutes

Members Present: Elizabeth Edmunds, Tracy Beck, Patricia Fedderson, Heidi James, Brooke Favero, Ericka Rodriguez, Kim Sickles, Trina Favero, Mrs. Okey, Tara Litster

The minutes of the September meeting was reviewed by Patricia Fedderson. Elizabeth Edmunds set a motion to approve the minutes. Heidi James approved and Elizabeth Edmunds second the approval.

Treasurer's Report: Given by Ericka Rodriguez

● Brooke Favero helped with the Budget
● There is $21,515.37 in the account

Calendar of Events:
● Oct. 9th: Run-A-Thon - We’ve raised $5,040, our goal is $12,000. Will send home last years pamphlet for the Run-A-Thon and an envelope with the hope of more donations. Volunteers need to be at school by 8:45 am.
● Oct. 14th: Waffle Love Spirit Night - Food Truck will be out front from 4-8pm.
● Oct. 11th: Book Fair - Will set up after school on Thursday Oct. 10th. Still have volunteer spaces available.
● Oct. 11th: Reflections Due - Information for Reflections can be found in the office.
● Oct. 22nd: Inclusion Day/Unity Day - District sponsored event but run by the school. Students will be given a wrist band and asked to wear Orange. Activities/Projects may need PTA volunteers. Emails will be sent out if needed.
● Oct. 28th: Family Engagement Night - School sponsored event. Jungle Theme, Literacy focus. Dinner and activities from 5-7pm.
● Oct. 31st: Halloween Parade - @ 2pm. Parents will meet in the gym. Mrs. Okey will send out more information.
● Report Cards: All report cards will be online on weber school districts portal, they will no longer be printed.
● North Park is a Title 1 school - Federal funding is based on free and reduced lunches. There are two models: Whole school, and individual models. North Park is a whole school model. Funds are used for: Parent Night, Title 1 Coordinator Mrs. Strate, Full time Counselor, Full Day Kindergarten, Some aides (majority of funds go to personel), Leader In Me, Planners (Title 1 & Trustland funds), Technology (Title 1 & Trustland funds).
