Education:

  • BSED and MCSC from University of Phoenix

Grades Taught and Where:

  • Kindergarten at Bonneville Elementary in Ogden School District for 3 years
  • Kindergarten at North Park Elementary

Why I like working at North Park Elementary:

  • I enjoy teaching at North Park because I get to know the students in my own community. While my house is in West Haven- my home will always be Roy. Seeing my son in our hallways, and knowing that my daughter and baby will go here as well, brings joy and pride to my heart. I love being a North Park Tiger, like my mom was, and love that my children will be too. I love getting to know the children and families that have that same tiger pride. I have made some wonderful friends with the parents and families I meet here. Growing up in the same neighborhood as my students gives me an idea of who they are, what they do for fun and where they go on adventures. Knowing these things, communicating well with the families and understanding my students' needs makes me a better teacher and person.

What you do when you are not at school:

  • My husband restores classic cars and we participate in local car shows and community events. We are part of a car club that hosts a show each August but also does monthly cruises and events, several of which benefit local charities such as Ogden Rescue Mission, Safe Harbor and others.
