School Compact

Parents and Teachers will work together to ensure the success of our students with shared responsibility for preparing all students to enter college.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities:

  • Make certain my child attends school regularly and on time (inform the school when your child is ill).

  • See that your child is well-rested and has breakfast each day (breakfast is from 8:00-8:25).

  • Set aside a specific time and place for homework, assisting as necessary.

  • Attend S.E.P. parent conferences and Title I Parent Education Nights.

  • Communicate regularly with your child’s teacher to ensure his/her academic success.

  • Make sure your child completes their home reading (20 minutes) and practices math facts daily.

  • Encourage a positive attitude toward school.

  • Review information and work sent home and respond as necessary (check and sign planners daily).

  • Encourage and prepare students to attend college.

Student Responsibilities:

  • Come to school every day on time ready to learn.

  • Complete class and homework assignments and turn them in on time.

  • Work to the best of your ability.

  • Work cooperatively with classmates, teachers and staff.

  • Respect myself, other people, and my school.

  • Follow school rules.

  • Accept responsibility for your own actions.

  • Prepare to attend college.

Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Provide a quality researched-based curriculum.

  • Be prepared daily to teach.

  • Be available by appointment for special conferences as needed.

  • Hold expectations high for all students, believing that all students can learn.

  • Provide meaningful homework.

  • Communicate regularly with parents concerning student’s academic and social progress through student planner, weekly folders, phone calls, notes, progress report and S.E.P. conferences, etc. Prepare student to attend college.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • To create a child centered school where all students are safe, nurtured and every student is given opportunities to achieve his/her academic, social, emotional, and physical potential in a safe, nurturing environment.

  • To promote cultures of universal achievement where every student becomes a productive citizen and increases their academic achievement. We believe that every child has the right to be prepared to attend college, and that it’s the responsibility of adults in the school to develop exceptional systems that make that dream a reality.
