NORTH PARK TIGERS 2020-2021

August 13, 2020

School is about to begin!  We are very excited to welcome all of the students that are registered to attend North Park Elementary during the 2020-2021 school year.   This will be a great year full of new experiences and we are looking forward to sharing them with all of you.  Be sure to check the website and stay connected through the MyWeber Portal for additional information and updates. Here is a list of a few items you will need to know:

Face Coverings: “Each individual, including an employee, student, or visitor, on school property or on a school bus shall wear a face covering.” (Public Health Order).   For exceptions to the health order, please contact the school administrator.  The school will be providing a reusable cloth face mask and a face shield for every student.  Students are welcome to wear face coverings from home as well.  Please follow all dress code policies as far as designs, images, or words.

Back-to-School Event:  Monday, August 24, 4:30 – 6:30.  Located outside the school on the eastside of the building.  We are encouraging families to attend during staggered timeframes in order to limit the number of people at any given time.  Facial coverings are also required while on school property if you are unable to maintain a 6-foot distance (Utah Health Order).  Watch for an email with more information from your child’s teacher and the school.

First Day of School for ALL Grades (K-6): Wednesday, August 26,  8:35 – 12:30

First Week of School:  8:35- 12:30  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (August 26-28).

Drop-off:  Supervision on the playground is provided beginning at 8:00.  All drop off for students will be located on the south side of the building.  Please drive slowly and be aware of pedestrians in the crosswalk areas. For safety reasons, we only allow students and staff on the playground area east of the building before and after school. The front of the building is reserved for busses only   Do not drop off, park, or allow your students to walk through the parking area or bus zone on the west-side of the building. This policy will be strictly enforced for safety purposes.

Pick-up by parents (walking/driving):  All students who walk or are picked up by a parent, will exit the east side of the building near the playground.  We suggest families designate a gathering location for siblings to meet.  Parents should wait outside of the playground area or in their vehicle to pick up their children.

Pick-up by Bus/Van:  Students riding a bus or van from Weber School District, Boys and Girls Club or a daycare, will be escorted through the building to the front of the building for loading.  Please help your child know they are riding the bus or being picked up by a daycare.  Also, inform the teacher of the transportation mode your child is expected to use.

Breakfast:  Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 8:30 each morning.   Doors will open at 8:00 and students are expected to exit to the outside of the building to the playground area to join the other students in the school after eating.  All students will enter the school from the outside doors on the playground side of the building.  Parents will not be allowed to eat breakfast or lunch in the cafeteria.
