News from your school
Hello Everyone,
Recently an email notification was sent out from the district to all parents of students in our district regarding free meals for ALL enrolled students from September 1 through December 31, 2020. I wanted to make sure that everyone had received this information. This is provided through USDA funds and is a great benefit for all of our families. You heard it right---Our school is serving free meals to all enrolled students for the months of September, October, November, and December while the funds are available. This includes both breakfast and lunch. There is an attachment with the information on the appropriation of funds from USDA.
It will still be important for families that are eligible to complete the application form for free or reduced meals. This application will ensure that qualifying students continue to have the benefit of free/reduced meals after December. A little known fact is that these free and reduced lunch applications can also impact how much funding our school receives each year through Title I. We encourage every eligible family to make application for this benefit. Here is a link for more information on Free/Reduced Applications: undefined://northpark.wsd.net/index.php?option%3Dcom_acymailing%26ctrl%3Durl%26subid%3D23760%26urlid%3D166%26mailid%3D133&source=gmail&ust=1600558483876000&usg=AFQjCNG2K59Tqc84iTQKjZ4jInWn9_B2KA">Free and Reduced Application

News from your school
September 4, 2020
Dear Parents,
First of all, I wanted to thank you for being careful and vigilant in making sure your child is healthy and well when you send them to school. It has been a delightful and healing opportunity to see the students back in school! With so many changes, it has been a challenge but the result of being able to be together at school has certainly been worth ithe effort. We ask for your continued support in following our safety guidelines to help mitigate the spread of the virus.
As we are all aware, cases of COVID-19 continue to affect our community. Although the number of cases has stabilized in recent weeks, we must continue to be vigilant in protecting ourselves from the virus. We know over the coming months, there is a possibility that students or employees may test positive or be exposed to the virus. If this occurs, we will coordinate with the Weber Morgan Health Department in following strict guidelines related to isolation and quarantine procedures.
Each school has a designated Point of Contact (POC) – our school nurses - who works directly with health department officials in identifying positive cases and potential exposures. The POC will assist with the contact tracing process which involves contacting anyone who may have been exposed at school or during a school function.
If a positive case occurs in our school, we will notify you as soon as possible if there is any risk of exposure to your child. The health and well-being of your children will always be our utmost concern.
There may also be times when a student or employee tests positive or is exposed outside of school. Many times these are exposures in a household which requires everyone in the home to quarantine as a precaution. In these cases, we will work closely with the individual involved to ensure proper health protocols are followed while protecting the school environment. If there is no risk of exposure to others in the school, we are prohibited from releasing any information about the situation as it could potentially violate HIPAA and that person's privacy rights.
As a school, we appreciate your understanding in these matters, and know that we always have the best interest of your child in mind. As school opened last week, we have not had any reported cases of students testing positive, or any cases where students have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 at our school. If there is ever a situation the could affect your child's health and well-being, we promise to promptly contact you.
Remember that Monday, September 7, is a holiday and there will be no school. I hope you all enjoy your weekend and students return to school safely on Tuesday.
Sincerely,
Sincerely,Rebecca Okey

NORTH PARK TIGERS 2020-2021

School is about to begin! We are very excited to welcome all of the students that are registered to attend North Park Elementary during the 2020-2021 school year. This will be a great year full of new experiences and we are looking forward to sharing them with all of you. Face Coverings: “Each individual, including an employee, student, or visitor, on school property or on a school bus shall wear a face covering.” (Public Health Order). For exceptions to the health order, please contact the school administrator. The school will be providing a reusable cloth face mask and a face shield for every student. Students are welcome to wear face coverings from home as well. Please follow all dress code policies as far as designs, images, or words.
