Dear North Park Families,

I hope everyone is relaxing and enjoying the summer.   August is quickly approaching and I am counting down the days until I’m able to welcome our amazing students back to North Park Elementary.  I have missed the energy and excitement the children bring and I can’t wait until they return. 

 

In preparation for the upcoming school year, here are a few important dates you will want to calendar:

  • Monday, August 24 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Back to School Event - More details will be coming...
  • Wednesday, August 26 8:35 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. First Day of School for K-6th Grades
  • August 26-August 29 8:35 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Early Out Days 

 

As a reminder, all students within Weber School District must register each new school year.   Registration forms are found online through your Weber School District’s MyWeber parent portal account at http://myweber.wsd.net, beginning July 5th Once logged in, follow the promptings and instructions.  Please take this opportunity to update emergency contacts for each student. It is important to note that in order to connect with North Park Elementary, BOTH guardian AND student must digitally sign ALL the required registration documents.

Required for Registration:

  • Digital signatures of guardian and student(s) for District Attendance and Truancy Policy, District Student Discipline Policy, District Appropriate Use Policy, District Unpaid Meal Charges Procedure and School Policies and Procedures.
  • Weber School District Demographic/Emergency Form (Print and update ONLY if there are changes that cannot be made through MyWeber-portal.)
  • Printed Optional Forms if applicable to your student
  • School lunch may be paid online beginning July 16, 2020 at http://myweber.wsd.net. You must complete the registration document process before you can access this link

We are now accepting registration documents for incoming kindergarten students. Due to the soft closure, our Kindergarten Roundup with be ‘virtual’. The links found under the PARENTS tab will take you to information, required documents, and a digital way to submit forms. Our Mission

The purpose of North Park Elementary is to guide ALL students in developing their own self-confidence through

high-levels of academic, social, and emotional learning in order to ensure whole community success.

 

    

Here are a few things that will help us to have a great year:


Utah State Law requires regular attendance. To ensure that concepts and skills are consistently learned, regular school attendance is a must. Also, punctuality is critical in order for children to feel a strong sense of belonging and to receive the directions and review that are given at the start of the day. We encourage you to not allow your child to stay home unless they are ill. Please notify the school in the morning if he/she will be absent. 801-452-4341.

 

A climate that fosters active participation in learning without disruptive influences is crucial to each child’s education. It is expected that every child will behave in a manner that allows all children the opportunity to learn to their maximum potential. This requires responsible behavior in class, on the playground, on busses, and walking to and from school. Please review Weber School District and the school’s Policies and Procedures with your child.

 

Safety is a top priority at North Park Elementary.  All parents or visitors much check in at the office before entering the building for any reason.  This includes morning drop-off and pick-up. The southside of the building is used for all drop-off and pick-up.The westside of the building is for bus access only. With approval, daycare vans may be provided access.Please review the Routing Plan for more details.

 

Students must remain on the school grounds during the school day. We have a “check in” and  “check out” policy in the office when students come late or need to leave during the school day.

 

North Park students take pride in their dress and grooming. Students are expected to maintain dress and appearance that is modest and not distracting to teachers or other students. Please review the North Park Dress Code with your child.

 

News from your school


Hello Everyone,

Recently an email notification was sent out from the district to all parents of students in our district regarding free meals for ALL enrolled students from September 1 through December 31, 2020.  I wanted to make sure that everyone had received this information.  This is provided through USDA funds and is a great benefit for all of our families.  You heard it right---Our school is serving free meals to all enrolled students for the months of September, October, November, and December while the funds are available.  This includes both breakfast and lunch.  There is an attachment with the information on the appropriation of funds from USDA.

Leader in Me Survey

Dear Parents and Guardians,
 
As many of you know, our school has started participating in the Leader in Me.  This is a great opportunity for our students, teachers, staff and parents to focus on becoming leaders by incorporating habits that will help them be ready to succed in the 21st century.  
 
In order to gather some feedback and data to support our journey, we would like to ask poarents to complete a survey for us.  This helps us understand how everyone feels about our school.  This information will be used to help guide our decisions and actions for helping our school become even better.  Thank you in advance for your participation.  The survey closes on October 2.
